Talbot
Chrysler decided to pull out of Britain and the UK operations were sold to the Peugeot-Citroen. Although Peugeot had built a few commercials they decided to only pursue the car and light commercial side of the business and resold the truck making division to Renault in 1984.
Peugeot resurrected the Talbot name in 1980, but in this case it was from Talbot-Largo; founded in France in 1935, which had passed to Peugeot with the Chrysler (France) company.
The Talbot name was used until 1990, then all vehicles became badged as Peugeot again. During this time Talbot made the Express, a goods chassis up to 3.5 tons, and a 6 wheel version evolved as a low-floor welfare bus called the "Freeway". These could be fitted with Talbot Pullman bodywork, though this part of the company was sold and later folded.
